Overview

Inspects utility poles according to contract specifications and records data on a tablet computer. May oversee pole treatment, restoration and other utility field crew services as well as train and supervise one or more crew members.

Qualifications

The following eligibility requirements must be met prior to becoming a Crew Leader:

  1. The same as a Crew Member, with the following additions:
  2. Possess a valid driver’s license and successfully complete the Osmose Driver Qualification Program.
  3. Demonstrate organization, inspection and leadership abilities.
  4. Score 70% or higher on the Osmose Safety Exam.
  5. Score 70% or higher on the Osmose Pesticide Exam.
  6. Score 70% or higher on the Pole Inspection & Treatment Operations Exam
  7. Be at least 18 years old to operate a company vehicle, 20 years old to transport employees to and from the job site and 21 years old to operate a Commercial Vehicle.

Responsibilities

As a Crew Leader, the following duties must be performed. These duties may vary in accordance with the service provided:

  1. Perform contract work according to specifications.
  2. Properly inspect, treat or restore utility poles, or survey utility lines.
  3. Accurately input and record data into a tablet computer.
  4. Hire, train and supervise a crew of one or more Crew Members.
  5. Become an Osmose Certified Driver and safely operate a company vehicle
  6. Become UTV operator certified and safety operate a company UTV (if required)
  7. Any other reasonable duty assigned by the Foreman or immediate Supervisor.
